Biography

I was born in 1976, and grew up in central Vermont. Shortly thereafter, I earned a BFA from the Maine College of Art, whereupon I loaded the majority of my earthly possessions, including at least five cameras, into the back of my pickup and headed west through the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains and on to the coast, finally stopping many weeks later when I ran into the back of a Toyota 4Runner.

Vowing to never again travel with the majority of my earthly possessions, I loaded myself and my stuff onto a train to regroup back in Vermont. I was only briefly daunted, however, and soon found my way back out west and ultimately to the Tetons in 2000.

Since then I have displayed a great aptitude for distractibility. After a brief tenure as a ski lift operator I have gone on to work as a painter, trail dog, firefighter, youth counselor, homebuilder, outdoor educator, garbage man, equipment operator and cargo handler. I've traveled (lightly) to Antarctica three times, Alaska once, New Zealand, China, South and Central America and Indonesia. I like to ride on buses with chickens, and occasionally I photograph.

It's been fun. Hope you like the pictures.
